The Sibillini Mountains are a mountain group of the central Apennines that extends between Marche and Umbria, from the River Chienti to the Tronto River, for a length of about 30 kilometers.Currently the area has been established as a National Park of Italy. There are about twenty peaks over 2000 meters, on which mount Vettore stands from the top of its 2478 m.
In addition to the Vettore it is worth remembering Mount Sibilla, linked to the legend of the sorceress Sibilla, from which also derives the name of the entire chain: to remember then the Prioress (2248m), Pizzo Berro and Pizzo Tre Vescovi, Mount Porche, the Argentella, the Cima Vallelunga; there are some dolomite-looking complexes such as Monte Bove, Palazzo Borghese and Pizzo del Diavolo which, together with the Cima del Redentore, dominates the valley of the famous Lake Pilato, the only natural lake in the Marche region.
The territory is also characterized by vast pasture areas, ridges and canyons (Infernaccio, Acquasanta Valley, Fosso la Foce, Val d'Ambro, Fiastrone Gorge, etc.) significant differences in height, exceeding 1000 meters.
